I was born the 20th of July 1967 in Hudiksvalls maternity ward. Hudiksvall was a fantastic city to grow up in where I felt safe, had good friends and a big wonderful family. It is also a place where everything is just around the corner.

I liked sports and tried handball, badminton and track and field, but above all I loved theatre. My acting dreams were born at an early age and I shared them with my best friends Maria and Pethra.

It was that same dream that eventually made us leave Hudiksvall. But even though you move from Hudiksvall, you can never really leave it.

Those first few years in the capital city were great, but each summer and Christmas we were back home in comfort and safety in Hudiksvall.

The summers were spent at Malnbaden and in Lakbäck, where Dad had a summer house, and Christmases were celebrated at the city hotel.

I still often go to "Hudik" - even though I don't hang out as much at the city hotel.

Theatre and TV

I studied theatre in Stockholm during one year, 1985. At the same time I worked at a café at Nybroplan. After that I decided to complete my High School degree and hence returned to Hudiksvall. Nonetheless, after a year I was bored of life in Hudiksvall. I had caught the taste of big city living so my best friend Maria and I made the move back to Stockholm.

In Stockholm I worked at the China Theatre, in ticketing as well as operated followspots (big moveable spotlights, which follows the actors on stage). That was back in 1987/88, I was 20 years old and the musical Cats was playing at the China Theatre. Between 1988/89 through to 1991 I lived in Gothenburg, where I eventually got a job as a lighting technician at the City Theatre.

I sang in a coverband and acted theatre, still it was the job as a lighting technician that eventually lead to a position in television. The production company MTV-studios in Jonsered was seeking a lighting designer, I got the job, then asked to co-host a TV dating show. Well, the rest you can read under the section "Television".

They were fantastic years. I am very grateful of having experienced such great trips and met such wonderful people. Fort Boyard was of course the first and major highlight of my TV career. I always become nostalgic when I look back on those days.

Turning points

1998 Maja was born. It made me realise how deep and unconditional love is. She is, and always will be, the most important thing in my life.

In 2004 I reached another turning point. Up till then I had been living a fast paced life, not allowing myself time to stop and reflect on what I wanted. To pursuit this I walked nearly 800 km in northern Spain that year, along the pilgrimage trail leading to Santiago de Compostela. The experience changed me and new dreams and aspirations evolved.

My writing serves as a way to achieve my dreams. Since 2005 four books have been published. Today I combine writing with jobs in television. It is great mix where I can get out and work with other people after some time of solitary writing. It feels like this is what my life will look like for some time now.

I love New York!
